Announcements

Announcements put a message in front of everyone: a colored block at the top of every user’s dashboard, posted from Announcements in the main navigation (from 0.50 — it used to live under Settings; old links redirect).

Admins always see it. To let someone run announcements without the admin role — a comms lead, an office manager — grant them (or a group) the section under Settings → Section access; the sidebar entry appears for them immediately.

Give the announcement a title and message, then pick:

  • SeverityInfo (blue), Warning (amber), or Critical (red); this only affects styling and the email subject prefix.
  • Auto-hide — optionally expire the message after 1–30 days. Otherwise it stays until you archive it.

Every signed-in user sees it on their dashboard, and the sidebar’s Dashboard entry shows a badge with their unread count until they dismiss the messages. Each person can dismiss a message for themselves with the ✕; you can archive it to remove it from all dashboards at once (and restore it later — personal dismissals are remembered).

Posting can also push the message out through the channels you’ve already configured — the dashboard block shows for all users regardless of what you pick here:

  • Email (needs SMTP) — send to everyone (all active accounts) or only selected groups (manual or Entra-synced). Group targeting affects the email only, never dashboard visibility.
  • Chat webhooks — deliver to every notification channel subscribed to the Announcement posted event (Webex, Teams, Slack, generic JSON, or email channels).

Posts, archives, and deletions are all recorded in the audit log, including how many people were emailed.
